Greg Nicolai decided on the name Flint City Theatre when he applied for the rights to Danny and the Deep Blue Sea and was told that a name of some sort was necessary. Otherwise, they wouldn't have let him do the show. He thinks it's an ok name, and if you have a problem with it, that's too bad.

After the christening episode, he left Flint for grad school. He has an MFA in Poetry from Minnesota State University and a BA in Theatre from the University of Michigan-Flint. He uses these ridiculous-sounding degrees to teach composition and literature at Macomb Community College and Oakland Community College.
